yup. i havent driven it yet, but i wanted the rear to carry the load between the axle and frame instead of front of the leafsprings. i know i'll lose alittle ride but for peace of mind that i can carry anything and also be able to change or work on my rear bags anytime will be worth it. i may be moving the air tank to the bed and maybe the rear valves behind the seat. i am working towards never having to take the bed off again. it will be easier to drain the tank when its in the bed and i plan on adding another compressor or 2. i also want to finally add shocks which was another reason i built the bag brackets and relocated them up high so i can weld some tabs and mount the shocks. i did keep the area between the notches empty, so i can air up and as long as my pumpkin is lower than the bed floor....i can still lay stuff flat like a filing cabinet or furniture......in fact, ive got stuff to move right now and im trying to get my bed back on soon, so i can move it

before with no bags and no shocks and no add-on leafs and with the bed off...if i floored my 4.3 it would wheel hop bad, if i drove it normal...no problems. i havent driven it in the current set up yet but im thinking with my shocks im going to do soon and the bags aired a little and keeping the add-on leafs...i shouldnt have any wheel hop. my add-on leafs are from autozone. not sure how caltac's would be.

get a bolt on 2 link from ekstensive for a couple hundred bucks and you'll be done in the rear...bolt a c-notch in then get a welder at a muffler shop to weld it...then for the front, buy the bolt in brackets for the front bags

I wish I'd seen Nate's set-up before spending all I did on going with a four bar set-up and all the other brackets for the bags and all!

probably wont. i do have an extra 73-87 crossmember and control arms and disc's that i might put on my 56. if i do, i'll have to narrow the crossmember and section it, then z the front near the firewall because i wouldnt have any clearance at all if i didnt. the 73-87 is supposed to almost bolt up but the width it puts the wheels is too wide and it also hangs too low if you leave it stock. all this if i cant find a 78-79 subframe to weld to the 56's frame.

You couldn't just run down to your local 24 welding supply house?

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag

ok, so 15 bucks worth of wood and 2 bucks worth of bolts, washers and nuts...i built this tonight and still have to do some diagonal bracing from 4x4's to 2x10's and diagonals from 2x8 to 4x4's. my plan is to lift the bed so that the lowest part of my bed is 30 inches...then drive under and lower it into position by myself
