Thats the new M series. Just came out this year, I got it mixed up with the non-M, as it has a 4.4l. The regular X5 has a N/A 4.8l. You can get what I call the "I want a BMW" base package with the I6 (260hp) for 47,500. The X5 is compareable in size to a Tahoe or expidition. If you want something smaller, get the X3 (trailblazer/explorer). If you need something even smaller the X1 will here as a 2011 model next year. I guess its like a equniox, I havent seen one of these yet.

Re: John's Project
Nothing against owning an affordable american made vehicle but After owning a late model M3 coupe,,Nothing else compares. Its not just the power but the ride, handling and leather interior. Its a diff. animal. The Germans wrap the entire interior in hide, not just the seats and door inserts.I mean the entire dash, pillar mouldings etc. On the down side,,they start to rattle and scweek after a few yrs. just like everything else. OK,back on topic.

About like it was before. Since I took the old one out, I worked all last week. Then this week my days off I'm helping my dad wire a house. He broke his foot a couple weeks ago, and needless to say I'm the worker while he sits on the ground supervising. |

Yeah, you would think his store would need some kind of a write-off or something though.........................

We don't get enought contractor work to offset the benefit of a BBQ. Were more if the DIY store. It might be something to consider next spring though. It will be our 25th year. We could have a customer appreciation/anniversary BBQ all in one. Last edited by JohnC; 10-22-2009 at 06:11 PM. |

Re: John's Project
I'll have to try and put one together in the spring. That does sound like a good idea, but everyone will be required to make a purchase from the store.

Re: John's Project
fwiw, i really like the milled aluminum air cleaner. once you get everything on there then decide because i'm thinking the alt., brackets, etc. will break it up enough and really make the valve covers and air cleaner stand out for a 'finished' look.

Re: John's Project
Yeah I really don't go over to the TBSS websites much.
Thanks man I think I'll prob go with the ball milled, but something just keeps drawing me to that Chevrolet one. As far as headers go my uncle has a set of shorties, not sure on brand, that he was going to use on a truck he built, but they changed their minds. So he was going to put them on his truck, but they didn't clear the motor mounts, and he didn't want to mess with it on his. So we are going to try and make them work on mine. If not I'll just buy a set of Hedman's. If I do I'm not sure if I'll go long tube, or shorties. Probably long tubes because I'm not going low enough to have clearance issues. |

Re: John's Project
Thanks for the comments guys. Guess I'll go with the ball milled air cleaner. That seems to be the concensus. Well except for Joe, nice try man!
Don't think I'll be lowering the SS Dennis. We just enjoy driving it the way it is. Thanks for the info on the headers bluex. I know what you mean by seeing the collector underneath the truck. |

Re: John's Project
Nice work!!
And pics to boot I say go with the ball milled, in my opinion the black just won't look right with those valve covers. You could always get some black valve covers to match it, then you could donate those to me can't wait to see that thang in your truck, ought to be badass!!!
