Re: Dad's 1979 GMC Heavy Half Transformation

I spent basically from 4:30PM to just now installing interior. I have the visors, kick panels and dome light install(s) left.

Pictures:
1. Good shot of the dash. I bought this 79-80 dash off of GManchinz about five years ago or so and it's been in storage ever since. Was black, changed it to medium gray this week.
2. Left door finished. The original door carpet had a mystic vent and outer mystic vinyl trim. I may go that route down the road???
3. Carpet install was tedious but went well. It was great having help from the 18 year old.
4. Seats, belts and console installed.
5. Sorry about he dust, but forgot to take care of that before hitting the road for fuel.

Tomorrow at 08:30 I have a wheel alignment.....

Thanks for watching. Mike

That's a whole bunch of beautiful going on there man! So what's it like driving a New Old Truck? Does it have that new car smell?

The alignment went extremely well, such a difference!! Tomorrow I plan on finishing the kick panels....and it needs a stereo (retro style). Took my wife for a ride to Starbucks today, she brought up, and remembers our first date in it in 1985 Now she's a fan of the truck - that's good.

Thanks Mike

Mike-if you need a NEW SPID tag I have the final design completed. Here’s my 1977 High Sierra tag with a few “added” RPOs to it.
