If you remove the bar between the grill and hood on a 69-72 GMC would you then be able to put a 67-68 hood on a GMC with no other changes?

Thanks for the link. What I'm thinking of doing is cutting 1 1/2" out of the vertical front edge of the hood and lowering it. So it would still be flat on the front but half the height. Kind of a hybrid of the two factory styles
