My girlfriend insists upon mentioning selling it all the dang time... I have only had it for a MONTH. She even mentioned using the proceeds to buy her a boob job. I almost took her up on it

Wife ,like's the truck I've only let her drive it a couple of time's she has a lead foot and thinks it's a sports car .
When I was you age I just would make sure there were a couple of condoms in the glove box .( if she didn't like the ride she could walk home )

If we have to take a car to the shop or something, I make my wife drive my '72 so I can see how cool it looks going down the road. She doesn't mind too much but she thought I should have sold the '72 instead of my chopper.

My GF doesnt like my blazer. I took her to reno in it (with the top off) and I strongly suggested she bring sunblock. Well, she brougt sunblock alright. Left it in her purse. Needless to say, I called her Missus Crabs. for the next week or so. Havent gotten her within 10' of the truck yet.
As far as letting your significant other drive, two words... FULL COVERAGE!!!!!!

Is this the Jason with the 65 with the tuned port?????????
If it is , Id put a little paint on it. At least it runs, sounds and starts very nice. Tell your girlfriend that your not paying a HUGE lease/ mortgage payment, and probably not a big insurance payment; therefore you can spend more money on her. Darren Quote:

My problem is that whenever you close (slam) the door the door handle falls off. There is no seatbelts. The exhaust exits right under the cab so it smells and is super loud. Oh and I almost left out how nasty the seat is...too many years as a work truck. Im affraid to even show my new girl friend :P ... as last note: I thought about onl adding a center belt so she would HAVE to sit all close like Last edited by JasonT; 08-15-2005 at 03:18 PM. |

the wife doesn't get it. no ac, poor gas milage, no power windows or locks, or other amenities. she'll ride in it when she needs to, but prefers her own ride( a 2000 f350). that works for me!!

I took my girlfriend for a drive in my 69 k5 today. Stopped at 7 eleven(i needed a slurpee). I casually reach down to the floor, pick up my gas pedal and set it between the seats. I told her it fell off, but I should be able to drive without it.
She was not too please. Damn reproduction pedals...just won't stay seated.

I don't have a girl friend, but my friend who is a girl said she loved my truck. let me tell you my truck is beat. But she said my seat was so comfortable and she liked the was it sounded (flowmaster). But my seat is the original with nothing but the padding and one of those old ass walmart seat covers. But she said she loved my old truck. hhhhhhhmmmmm....... maybe I better give her a call.

Funny when my now wife first met me I was driving an 87 Monte SS....when I picked her up for our first date I drove my 72 K10 which at that time had around 140,000 PA miles on her.....needless to say she was not impressed but never complained.....she never understood why I would drive the old truck when I had the Monte sitting in the garage all clean under a cover....now that it is restored she says she really likes the 72 and might not have minded driving in it so much if it looked the way it does now...she does wish it had A/C.....I really cant complain she has always supported my projects even though she doesnt understand the rationale behind them.... go figure

I bolted the bench back down (to the bare metal floor since I'd ripped all the carpet out) and I pulled the lap belt back thru so she could have a belt.
She was cool with it until I stomped down on it and left a "single wheel peel" that stopped about the time we hit the tail end of 2nd gear. She commenced to *****ing and griping at me till we got back home. Much to my 4 year old son's dismay he's not allowed to ride in it since it only has lap belts and "daddy can't behave in that damned truck". We sneak out once in a while anyway. |

When I was but a Lad-----condoms in the glove box, beer in the console with lots of ice and some weed stuck between the seat-----with music to win her over! Of course it kid of depended on which girlfriend as to what to go after first!!! It some cases, it was all of the above!! As my buddy used to say, if you go uguly early, you save money as "they" appreciate the attention and you don't have to use lot of other things!HEHEHEEHHE

My wife loves the Burb and loves to ride in it. But I have always had a classic and she rode in classics when we were dating over 40 years ago. Huck, you were the guy I always worried about when my three daughters were dating. That was the father in me. I am a good size man and I always gave the boys the "look" when they came to the door. Of corse the girls did not like that but I did not care.

My truck was my daily driver in college when I started dating my current gf. She didn't want to ride in it at first until she realized all the attention it got (and it's only in black primer). I let her drive it around a parking lot at school. She almost shat her pants at the power, my head just about slammed into the back windo when she hit it.... I was SO proud! She's a keeper!

She has always ridden in it, but I did get a center seatbelt (GM button I might add) off the board so she could sit up close to me.

My wife tolerates it. She really only likes riding in it once a year - to get a REAL christmas tree!

My wifejust see's my old trucks as a POS. she never rides in my truck. Although before we were married she didn't mind shagging a few times in my old 71 burb. the first time she said " wow, there is so much room back here!" Now my 2 year old son loves to ride in the truck. when we go to the store in it he makes engine noises the whole way!!
I just washed the outside and vacummed inside!

When I first told my wife I was thinking of buying a Blazer she had a fit, but said go ahead... I got it home and she liked it...
When I told her I was thinking of selling the Blazer, she said "NO WAY". I guess it grew on her and in the summer she picks my son up in it every Friday after school. Hopefully one day we'll have His and Hers 2wd Blazers (well, mine will be a Jimmy...) Rg
