Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

ric - talked to my brother and he does not have any right now for sale. If I come across a set (how many were you wanting?) I will let you know.

billybob - sorry, the lens are gone already but will probably have some more soon. I will PM you when I get some.

jberkeley - can I email you a couple of pictures of the wing windows? The reason I ask is I wanted you to see them to be absolutely sure of what they are. The glass is in good shape. There is surface rust on the outside of frame. The wing frame itself has a little bit of rust at the bottem on the inside/outside. The lock mechanism is a little loose, but functions. The rubber is in 'ok' shape. It is starting to get a little hard, but still ok. The felt in the window track is in poor shape. It is all there, but might want to be replaced since it is out. Also took some close up pics of the bezel and gauges. The bezel is in good shape (I mentioned the hole being cut out for a radio). The only other thing with that is that there are some white spots on the shiny finish (can see in pics). The gauges are pretty good. Everything is there except for the clock knob (already sold) and the gear indicator (sold as well). The hands are broken off of the clock, too (didn't know if you were wanting it for that reason or not). Let me know what you think. I just want to try to be as honest as possible. This stuff is just driver quality (the reason for the low prices). After getting it all apart, I'd say I could ship it for around $25.00 by the time I add enough packing to keep stuff from breaking. That would be a total of $10 wings, $20 gauges, $15 bezel, $25 shipping.. $70..

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

I would sell you the bezel shipped for $22 if you'd like to have it (figure around $7.00 for shipping or so). Let me know what you think.

What kind of spring hangers or what kind of shape is the driver's side rear end out back the FRONT hanger in. front hanger REAr end/axle not a front one for a 4x4 had that mistake happen from gm thinking I wanted one for the front end. I need one for an 86 swb 4x4.

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

89blaz - It had a turbo 350, but it has already been sold.

benoit454 - i'll have to check the spring hangers and see how they look. If I'm reading this right, it is the drivers side front hanger for the rear end?

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

Yep you got it exactly right lol. I talked to gm here and they tried to sale me the front hanger for the front end.

You are correct it's the driver's side front hanger for the rear end/rear leaf spring. I don't know if a passenger side one would work or not seem to be the same to me really. Our dirver's side is rotted bad and the passenger side is perfect.

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

benoit454 - I looked at the hanger, and it is pretty rusty looking. Here is a link to the pic's. http://www.bright.net/~commagic/hanger.htm

misfits - sent PM back to you about the grill. Here is a link to pictures of the grill. http://www.bright.net/~commagic/grill.htm

cornfed63 - Here is a link to pictures of the headlight bezels. I'd take $25 shipped for bezels. http://www.bright.net/~commagic/grill.htm
What are you refering to as upper radiator mount? This one was held in place by fan shroud I believe.

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

qksilver - If you are able to come pick it up or have it picked up, I'd take $150 for all front suspension and crossmember. I'd sell the wheels for another $40 if you wanted them (4 of them) or $20 for 2.

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

Let me know what you find out and when it might be. Will you be making the trip just for this reason or for other reasons as well? The reason I ask is you might see if anyone needs anything hauled either way (parts or other things, might help cover gas expenses and so forth if you wanted to mess with it).

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

Since I see no one has asked about it in a posting yet, what sort of shape is the dash pad in? Looked at your pic of the gauges and could not tell much from it other than it is blue which is the color I am looking for. Any cracks or tears in it? If no cracks or tears can you post some pics of it? I need one badly for my '91 Burb. Thanks.

Sorry Ironhorse, the dashpad was trash. It had multiple cracks in it. What color are you needing in case I come across something?

Re: FS - Parting out 86 Suburban in southern Ohio

Thanks for getting back to me in regards to the dash pad. I am in need of a medium blue pad for my '91 Burb. Mine is useable but has a couple nasty cracks in it. The rest of the Suburban is in really nice shape interior wise, just need a decent pad. Keep me in mind if you find something. Thanks for the return post.
