Looks good! Sounds like it'll run great too! Keep up the good work.
I sure wish that I had my block back from the machine shop. |

That would be Dark Dark Orange. Street named "Rotted Orange". Things have been on hold lately. Been working 60 to 70 hours a week and that doesn't leave much time for fun. Should be getting started on it again late next week as my schedule has went back to 40 hours a week. JKR

Joker, Since Your Oil Pan Is Chrome How Do You Think That Kit Would Lay Down On The Oil Pan I Am Going With A Stock Oil Pan And Do You Think That Painting Over The Bolts With A Brush Would Make It A Pain To Get Them Out??

I have a nearly identical engine in my truck. Heads are 2.02/1.60 though, but the cam and everything else is the same. It runs very well, not really fast but plenty of tourque and power. If you have a set of 3.73 gears in your truck it will run very well (I only have 3.07 gears, but it still fries the back tires). I've gotten it to run on 91 octance in the summer adn 89 in the winter. Usually around 12 mpg.

I think it would lay down just fine but with the bolts tightened down on the pan you may have a time removing them later, if you needed to. I would recommend only putting 2 bolts in the pan to just hold it in place or just paint the pan and bolts seperated from the engine then mount it. JKR

Re: Pics of SBC 350 build..almost finished
Luke, I do have the 3.73 rearend. I'm really anxious to start it but the way things have been going I havven't had any time to work on it. I'm in the process of a divorce and things are busy now. It's nice and civil so no big deal. We just decided it was best to give up and move on. Anyway, I should be back to working on it in a month or so. I'll be sure and post my results.
