More progress tonight. I was able to drill the holes in the crossmember for the bulkheads.
The first two pictures are of the driver's side, I haven't finished this side yet. The second two pictures are the passenger's side, I was able to get both of these fittings in tonight.

Here are the emergency fills for the individual bags. I have it set up so I can fill the air tanks with a schraeder valve, or I can fill each individual bag with a schraeder valve.

Front bags are in, I still have to run the lines to the front bags, wire the system, and run the lines to the gauges. I haven't gotten to spend much time out there, but I am getting close. I will put some new pictures up this weekend.

Funny you posted tonight, I was going to update this old thread. I had play with the crossmember bulkhead fittings, I cut some pipe at an angle so I could get the fitting to point at the bag a little straighter. I have everything plumbed now. Sometime next week I hope to pressurize the system so I can start chasing down any leaks that I may have. I still have to try to figure out how to mount my York compressor to the passenger side. I also have to finish the wiring. Slowly but surely!

Using conduit is a great idea! I might need to do that. I don't understand why you ran a bulkhead fitting for the crossmember though. Looking at the install diagram I have, they just ran a hose from the bag to the valve.
I am still waiting for my brackets and drop spindles, then I can do mine! Nice work. |

I didn't see where bulkhead ftgs were necessary either. I just used a 90* fitting, 1/2" NPT x 3/8" DOT push-to-connect. It also swivels which makes it nice. Once you tighten the fitting into the bag, you can still swivel the 90 to where you need to run the line. It was a piece of cake. It was a little difficult to get my hand in there to push the line into the fitting, but once I got it in there I was good to go.
I also can't see why you needed to cut holes in the floor to get to the upper bag mounts in the rear. Granted I've got a P/U but I didn't even remove the bed to mount the bags and plumb everything. The hardest part was drilling the 1" hole for the fitting on the bag port to clear through the frame. Again, here I used a 90* fitting just like on the front and then ran the line down the frame to the rear valves. I can't imagine that the Blazer frame back there would be that much different, is it?

Pulleys are in a different position fore/aft about 3/4" with the different w/p set-ups.
Looks like a bolt on solution for some. Too bad I have a supercharger sitting right there...

Look between the back of it and the timing chain cover; if there is a 3/4" gap, you have long accessories. If the pump is resting on the cover, you have short. -Chris
