Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Looking good! What upper control arms are thoughs? I still need to install my power rack. I finally got a pic of my new 20's. Keep up the good work. I'll try to get out there and work on the $500 bucket this week!

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
You should be able to find some NPT schrader valves at a local hardware store. You will need a bushing to reduce from the 1/2 port on the bag. Most of the schraders I am referring to are 1/8 NPT.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Get you a spot weld cutter (www.eastwood.com Item #11279). Mark each spot weld with a center punch. Drill the spot welds and with some gentle persuasion, remove the old rusty rocker panel. Do the necessary prep to underlying metal with rust encapsulator. Drill new 1/8" holes in the new rocker panel in the same locations as the old spot welds on the old rocker. Install new rocker panel and puddle weld holes to underlying sheet metal. Grind, fill, sand and prime. I have done them several times. With the spot weld cutter, the outer rocker panels are one of the easiest panels to replace. The kick panels, inner rockers and floor boards are a different animal. I have done them, as well, however the process is more involved. Same principal, but not as easy and quick. Good luck.

I went with this setup from air ride. http://www.airride.com/productinfo/c10.asp it is at the bottom. It was about 1800 which includes shipping.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Finally was able to air up the front suspension and turn the truck around for the new C10 air ride strong arm install. I will be posting pics of the install so everyone can get an idea of how this looks. Everywhere i look i do not see how low the suspension can go. Nathan said i should get it this week sometime so i will keep everyone posted. Once installed, it will go to the engine shops for prep work on how everything will sit and I may have found a body man for this project.
Thanks

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Well got everything prepped for tomorrow's install. It is a pain in the A__ to get all those ribets out. It took me all day to take them out and under the cab was the longest. Here are some pics. More tomorrow.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Ok started on the install. Directions were ok but could have been better. You almost have to enlarge every hole to put the new parts on. Besides that it was ok. The you are not lifting up your cab you will still be ok but you must have patience. I hit one snag today which caused me to halt on the installation. The passenger side was c-notch was easy to install. The only issue was having to test fit it alot. On the drivers side i could not get it on cause it would hit the mounting bracket. So guess i will call air ride tomorrrow or if anyone can give me a hint let me know. I did find out that the bar that goes across is not centered. Here are some pics.
