Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

I have put in a couple of sets now and they are great! (although not perfect) they are way better than the front floor pans which are available (really crappy).. the only flaw I have encountered is on the drivers side extension on the bottom below the cab support holes.. It is not flat, it slants slightly upwards, you can see what I am refering to in Musclerodz pictures.

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

So even though the front floor pan includes the front half of the geometry that this one piece outer floor section includes, it is better to cut it off and use this patch panel? ie. even a truck that needs floor panels is better off not using what is pictured?

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

IMO.. if yours needs all of the front floor pan it may not be worth the extra expense to also get the floor extension piece, It depends on how picky you are, the existing floor pans can and do work but do take bit more work to make them fit good with the rear replacement you pictured, most trucks (at least around here) do not need an entire front pan.. just the extension.. Personally I would use the extensions and as much of the front pan that is needed.. here are a couple of pictures of how the complete front pans and rear sections fit together, to me is is much nicer to use one entire piece if possible

It is the outer floor pan drop off which is the inner rocker.

I noticed you cut around the hump. Did it line up? On my Blazer it was not even close, about 1-1/2" off which may be a difference in a Blazer floor. The front floor pan is crap compared to the outer floor. I got one of those the other day to repair a small section and was not happy with the quality. You can see the pic of the outer floor that was just installed in my Blazer on my thread I just updated in the Blazer section.

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

Yes It did line up, I cut around the hump because it is a bit easier to get things to line up and welded on a flat surface.. I have put the floor extensions in both a pickup and a Burb.. But not a Blazer, yet.. LOL. I did not know there is a difference on the seat mounting hump between trucks, burbs and Blazers. Hmmmm.. guess I will find out soon enough.. I have several Blazers lined up all waiting to get the rust fixed..

Livrat, what kind of mods were made to the floor extension piece on the 'burb install?

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

On the Burb there were not really any mods to do other than just trim it to fit where you cut your existing floor.
Here are a couple of pictures.

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

Thanks. Where did you get yours? There's a big price difference between Truck and Car Shop and Classic Heartbeat. Looks like your outer rockers fit well. Did you fab that little rear section on the front passenger side rocker?

Re: One Piece Outer Floor Sections

I bought them at Classic Heartbeat, At the time they were $50..
The little piece you asked about on the passenger rocker is the original part, fortunately it was in good shape!

Can someone post a part no. or link to these? I could not find them on the NPD web site and I avoid LMC unless I am desperate.
