I am abot half an hour from Morgantown.. just got back from the girlfriends house..

yes the door was completely skimmed in filler.. I ground it all out and I saw no reason for the filler LOL
there is a dent at the bottom but other than that... THE GUY WENT PUTTY CRAZY

Have been workin on it pretty hard these last few days.... Finally cut the tranny tunnel out.. Raised, SeamSealed, and primed and painted... Let me know what you think about it... Startin on steering next, Then some body work, then the brakes....

Nice job what kinda of seam sealer did you use? I used some 3m stuff and did not really like it.

I got my sealer from Napa... I am pretty sure it is Napa brand also.. It was my first time using it but I really liked it...

Hey guys... started the steering... if my control arm is just barely rubbin that shaft can I put a u joint right above that piece of the control arm? Would puttin a joint there move the steering enough to not rub?

Thanks man... Those little universals are a killer like 60 bucks a piece.... It was just barely rubbun so I cut my control arm and put a piece of round tubing in there to get my strength back... I will have some pics up today....

Have been workin on it while it has been warm here. Finally primed the cab, finished the steering, and started workin on gettin the doors straight.
Hopefully have the doors primed at the end of the week. I made some brackets for the column to get held since the firewall has none.

Looks like a fun project! I've basically done very similar as for as a front end layout except I've sunken the crossmember 5" up over the frame rails instead of Z-ing the frame just to be a little bit different. If I recall correctly, you've Z'd 4" plus dropped the cab 1" so in essence you'll end up raising the motor about 5" in relation to the body. Same thing I am doing, my motor will raise approx 5" due to the new crossmember location alone. I'm curious if you've fitted the motor yet and have any pics of how the motor to hood clearance and distributor to firewall clearnace will work out for you? I hope to be fitting my motor this weekend so I was very curious what you've run into and how you've worked around it.

No the motor has not been in recently.. just to make the tranny crossmember.. I hope to put it back in soon though. My firewall will def. need cutting around for the dist. I also do not know about the hood. I dont think it will have a problem honestly. It may look a little goofy that high though.

Here's how mine is looking 5" higher (you may have seen it already). I cut for the dist today. When it's done I'll show it in my thread. Looks like hood clearance will be good and doesn't look goofy at all like I thought it would being up so high.

I replaced the frame from the notch back since it was a little rotten and it would look nicer anyway ........gonna put the fuel cell there

I also started on my watts link.. I will get pics up when it gets finished.. Shouldnt be too much longer.







That is just a temporary crossmember until I put another in after I get my cell made.

Also.... I drilled the 6 lug rear axles to a 5x5 bolt pattern to match the front. The front crossmember is from a 87 chevy so it now has disc brakes Axles took forever but it was def. worth keeping the 12 bolt rearend and the same stock width of the rear...
