Re: Decisions, Decisions . . ....
After the second inspection (this one in daylight), it's a stretch for the asking price. I thought about making a counter offer but I don't think we'll be in the same price range. It is a nice truck, just not 5K nice.
I brought a knife & dug up some of the dirt in the kick/toe-panels & there was some holes. There was some cheap 'Pep-Boys' type chrome trim (plastic) attached to the door edges; but they painted the truck w/it in place. The a/c was all there but the control panel didn't work so I couldn't verify if the remainder of the system was functional. The paint quality was 'Collision Center' type work.... ok for a driver but not nicer (I would have had to paint the bed myself .... in the driveway on a windy day to get a consistent texture). The truck was straight but they did a poor job. The jambs were the same color family, but not the same color; the interior paint was lacking as well. For $4800-5K, I'll re-work what I have or use my cab/doors from the RetroRod & use the current cab for that project (I did want to shave that entire firewall). I'll let it sit & re-approach w/a counter offer toward the end of the week. If I can pony up the $$ to get this truck, I can get the Beater in shape.

Re: Decisions, Decisions . . ....
Not bad. I actually prefer the faded original stuff vs. a cheap re-paint.

I say do it.
I see longbeds all over the place. Shortbeds seem to be the ones that get hauled off to the crusher all the time. Nobody wanted a shortbed back in the 60s and 70s

I see: All the original chrome has been removed to prep it for new paint, so you can see there is no plastic on this truck. All the original chrome comes with the truck.
