Re: Free: 1965 Suburban Custom
Ok I see lots of pictures of Burbs here. Anyone know was dual sliding windows an option? I see some with 2 sliders and I see some with no sliders also there are some like mine with 4 sliding windows. Just wondering if anyone has any information on this.
Thanks.... |

Re: Free: 1965 Suburban Custom
KEVIN DON'T EVEN START WITH ME. i have been to your house and and lets just say you got just as many things going on over there if not more.i found a nice little spot next to the Garage to park the sub for a little while.just so you know my wife liked the sub so much i decided that it would be a great truck for her.you know a little grease for the skids.now let me bring you up to speed on what i have been doing, remember both you and i work far from home. im in San Francisco Mon-Thurs. so it is not like i can work on my stuff during the week. and when i get home my wife usally has 20 things for me to do so that comes first. long story short i know your breaking my balls (LOL), but on the other hand it sure is hard to pass up free and cheap stuff when there is so much out there. right now i am working on my 71 short fleet.i just installed new rockers and POR-ed the floor.i plan on haveing it running by Sunday.as for the Blazer i brought my buddy Greg in to work on the suspension and it is coming along.as for the 61 bubble top that is in the other garage and i am just trying to get to it some day.as for the other trucks ,1967 short fleet and the 1969 short fleet, well they are in line to be worked on or they are for sale.here are some picks for you guys. Tony

Re: Free: 1965 Suburban Custom
here are some more pics. after going over the sub there is no rot at all and the body is really straight. it will need a new hood othere then that all the panels are good and the tail gate and hatch door are in solid shape open and close perfectly.i am really excited about this project. but i know it will have to wait un till i finish what i have in front of me. (LFD) lol

Re: Free: 1965 Suburban Custom
Don't get you started? You only work 4 days a week. I have been working 5-6days@ 10hrs a day in good old Oakland. As far as projects lets see what I have going,
70 2wd blazer for a board member getting a full air ride set up plus a few mods. 72 2wd blazer getting an engine mounted york for his air ride system plus a burb clip in rear seat and new fronts also a board member. 41 Chevy pu I am doing a full body and paint job wih alot of mods for a Vallejo PD. 72 pu for another board member I will be doing the entre bottom of the cab for rust replacement. Then their is the LFD 4dr tahoe build I have started. Along with a 71 4dr crew cab 1ton diesel duelly. My wife's 63 GMC SWB fleet side, my 70 2wd blazer, finish up Low Buck (2 items left), then my son's 51 F1 pu that will be getting chopped, channeled, sectioned and shortened plus who knows what else. So yeh I was just busting your balls but now that I look at it I think you are just slacking! Get off your but and get to work man So what happened to the factory 2wd blazer you picked up? On your floor replacement what did you use for patch panels? Inner, front and rear floor or was it a 1 piece or what? Looks great! Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Free: 1965 Suburban Custom
yea your right i do need to get off my a$$ and get to work.oh i for got my wife and i and expecting a little guy mid May early June.so my truck mode it locking horns with her nesting mode. i know you can understand.lol
as for th floors i just replaced the inner and out rocker panel on both sides, the floor just had light surface rust in the area that i used the POR-15 on so that might look like new meatel is just where i painted.i plan to run this truck with the straight 6 in it for now.i am going to get a 4/6 drop from EC, and run these 18/20 centerlines.i just got the paint from the Kustom Shop, a satin metallic blue and a Pearl white Top for a bit of a retro look.let me tell this is all coming together nicely. FYI it's a chevy with a jimmy gate.as for the 2wd blazer i passed it off to my buddy John for his kid.can't keep them all.it turned out to be a Jimmy with a chevy clip,oh well. Tony |

Hey Dino, I'm hanging awainting my Rod guy to gey his broken wrist out of a cast, so my burb is dismantled in his shop with floor ripped out and rear cab mounts still needing fabbed..I'm working 5 days a week midnights so here it is time to be driving the Burb and I'm waitng another 4 week till he is back, and probally another 4 weeks to complete the freshen up on my burb...
Get your stuff for your Orange burb? Is it rolling yet? Nice build thread.. I like the lifted look but it will never beat them layin frame... JMO Hope all is well... Last edited by soba_03; 04-22-2008 at 06:02 AM. |
