Re: Auto floor shifter
I'm planning on putting in a Lokar shifter 700r4. After pulling away the carpet I do not have a bolt on cover in the cab to expose the transmission. Do any of you have any suggestions on the best way to cut this in? Some type of template possibly? Thx

Anyone have pics of their interior with the B&M Unimatic installed?

Re: Auto floor shifter
I'm also going with Gennie, small company, made in the USA. I don't care for the Lokar push button and the resulting limitations on shifter knobs. You can purchase Gennie products on their website. I like supporting the smaller companies.........

Re: Auto floor shifter
Does anyone have a preference for using a floor shifter vs a column shifter for an automatic transmission?

Re: Auto floor shifter
I had a B&M ratchet shifter that was fun to play with that I still kind of miss after switching over to a column shift.

Re: Auto floor shifter
I've had both a B&M Megashifter and the stock column shifter when using late model columns. The Megashifter was a blast on my hot rod '61. Smack shifting it on the upshifts and fist bumping it on the downshifts. The quintessential hot rod shifter. These days however, as a more (ahem) mature married man, I prefer the column as my driving style has evolved to more of a cruising style. I also like the extra room for the occasional center passenger, or my homebuilt removeable console/drinkholder. But back in the day, the chick's were diggin' it as I smacked the hot rod '61 thru the gears. I still roll a column shifter on one truck and a floor shifter on the other but now it's a 3 on the tree for the longbed and a 4 on the floor for the shortbed.
