Re: Cherubs 82 build

Ok After two weeks of checking and double checking the wiring ive got the engine to crank over. It still wont start though. So now im going to chase that down.

The truck is almost all back together just need to install the grill and align the bed.

Re: Cherubs 82 build

I saw you had the wiring sent to get reworked, so you did remove the security crap right? I know that will keep it from running. Just a thought, I don't know squat about these swaps but I have read about that before. I hope to do a swap like this some day

Re: Cherubs 82 build

Btw are you sure its a wiring issue? Have you checked all the basics, spark fuel etc... could be something else causing your problem?

Re: Cherubs 82 build

I checked spark, and Im getint fire. I checked fuel, and im getting 40 psi. Im going to check everything again and see if i missed something.

side note i dont have the maf sensor or o2 sensors hooked up. regadless it should turn on and idle correct?

Re: Cherubs 82 build

yes it should still fire w/o the maf and o2's. but its the 40psi that worries me.
if im not mistaken you need 58psi on the fuel. i'm gonna look into this on ls1truck and see what i can find out. but i'm almost positive ive read that the motor wont fire if under a certain psi which i think is 58. Dennis

Re: Cherubs 82 build

ok, i have the book "how to swap ls engine in anything" and it says here that you need at least 58psi at the fuel rail. if not the motors gonna have a serious lean condition if it even runs at all.

what pump are you running? and double check your lines for leaks

Im running the AC Delco EP 241 intank fuel pump. I am running an-8 fuel feed line.

Im going to double check for leaks and then Retest to see if IM getting the required 58. Cool cool cool gives me a place to start

Re: Cherubs 82 build

Thats what i was thinking, either fuel or the vats in his wiring... I also thought maybe that coil pack they sent him was bad but thats was ruled out... Good luck on fixing your problem hope you get her fixed up really soon, if your like me your dying to drive it!

Re: Cherubs 82 build

Some update. Called Nelson Performance and they removed the Vats and there is not relearn that needs to be done. Also mentioned like yall have said to check my fuel pressure.

I didnt get to check the fuel pressure but i did find a leak at the fuel filter. I would assume this is the culprit.

Nice work Cherub. I've often thought of doing a swap like this in my truck. Is that you TBSS in the background?
