Re: "Trucks" on Spike
I enjoyed watching Stacey David when he was on Trucks. Although he does giggle quite a bit. His true enthusiasm<--(how ever you spell it) for what he does shows. He seemed more knowledgable and insightful about the projects he was working on. I do watch Gears, but there are some things that annoy me about it too.
I'm glad they finally finished the 66. What sucked was how they spaced it out. Thats one project I really hoped had more details of the build. But all in all. The c10 was very nicely done.

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
Just when you think Stacy's done giggling he says, "oohhhh hnoooo haaaa". As far as I'm concerned he created giggle speak so he's the problem. Trucks replaced him by doing auditions for the best giggle speaking cue card readers. They made Kevin cut his terrible mullet to be on that show. If you youtube body work he'll be on there looking a little angry and pounding on a fender with his mullet blowing in the breeze. I think horsepower is my favorite of the shows now.

super schlong. It's a nice truck, I have a couple on my Ipod, it kept me busy in Iraq watching them and thinking about my truck.

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
I am trying to figure out which stock color that is. I don't see it on the 66 color chart. I see something like it on the 65 color chart though.

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
The way they space out their projects on these shows is killing the appeal of watching them.
Stacey has been build the Rat Roaster for like 3 years now, Sgt Rock is probably 4+ years in the making, and likewise with the Banshee. Trucks is about as bad - the '66 took a long time to finish. Then they bust out the stupid 2nd Chance Silverado in straight episodes. Dont even get me started on Muscle Car... It's getting to the point where I dont even want to watch anymore... Lets see how long it takes them to finish the Ford/Dodge crewcab |

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
Sad thing is I have the following set to record on my DVR. Only new episodes so it doesn't catch reruns.
Hotrod TV Muscle Car Trucks Xtreme4x4 Now I normally fast forward through all the commericals and builds that I find to be a waste of my time, which is nearly all of them in Trucks because I don't plan on installing a anything from banks, bully dog, sky jacker on a diesel truck that I don't even know. Xtreme4x4 has started loosing my intrest as well. Everything they build on it has 38-inch tires and a V8. Well my Jeep doesn't have neither so its in my opinion unrealistic. Hotrod Tv I sware they build a new motor nearly every other week hahahaha. Muscle Car they bounce from car to car and I can hardly keep up, but they do tons of body work and it peaks my intrest because I want to learn. I'm glad Trucks is finally going to finish that 66. I've only been waiting what seems like years. I guess I'll have to check the DVR and see if its on there. |

I believe your talking about Rick's assistant....short guy with the dark hair. I think he gets that accent naturally. At least he sounds like everybody else around here...

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
Chuck and Joe were good on the original Hot Rod/Horsepower TV, but the puns they worked into every show were a little tough to get past at times.
I dig them all most of the time. I do wish they would do more "low buck" projects, though. I wonder why they don't throw a ton of money at David Freiburger to come host one (or all) of the shows. That would be TV I would never miss.

Trucks! actually did an interesting build using a Jeep Cherokee and building it up on a budget. But they cut corners that nobody else could do. How many people happen to have D44's laying around, an automated Plasma cutter to fabricate bumpers, and a top notch paint booth? Gearz has really disappointed this season. He did a sweet job on the Knucklebuster project, but since then it seems like he's just talking, or doing boring projects. I mean, one episode was totally dedicated to a car ralley, another to him walking around a junkyard, another about cheap mods to help fuel economy but he didn't actually do anything, and there's rarely 2 new episodes back to back. Then he seems to pick up old random projects and does one or two little things to them and calls that a show. 5 minutes on boxing the frame of Sgt Rock, 3 minutes of making a shifter for the Rat Roaster, etc... His budget must have been cut or something. |

I watch the weekend shows on Spike almost every weekend and everytime Trucks would come on, they'd work on the Cheap Cherokee or the Silverado and I would start cussing at the TV because they wouldn't ever get back to the '66. The one weekend that I don't watch, they bring it back...Just my luck!

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
Yeah I know its called Xtreme4x4, but their audience isn't people that can afford Spidertrax Dana 60/Ford 9-inch hybrids, LS1's and 8k in bending, welding and plasma cutters. Those guys already have their rigs and are on W-rock or whatever. Us common Joes or Kizers in my case are watching with a lower budget and a mind set that you can do things with less.
I completely understand the go big or go home aspect trust me I've wheeled with those idiots already. These shows I thought where supposed to be geared towards those of us that well are intrested in their projects not sick of them because they go into the totally unreleastic relm with 50-80K budgets and skys the limit as long as their sponsors have their gear on them. For gods sake start a project and finish it. As far as Trucks goes honestly I've learned more reading posts here than I have watching episodes. I did find the shorting of the 66 Fleet interesting, but it was more or less a live action version of reading somebody elses photos. |

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
xtreme is supposedly doing a budget build with simple tools on a jeep, but they just end up buying all new parts. trying to prove that it can be built in an average joes garage or something of that nature.

I bought some of the color that they used on the 66 build. Now I am just going to spray in on something to see if I really like it.

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
That's no truck. There's no dirt on it and I I'd live in fear of the first scratch I would surely put on it. How about a show for low budget builds for guys that use a truck for it's intended purpose?! With all the TV production people I know including myself I just may pitch this!

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
that WAS Trucks... and Xtreme $x4 and hot rod/ horsepower tv. Anyone remember SHADETREE MECHANICS before it became two guys garage/ infomercial for shhhtuff that doesn't work (magic fuel catalysts and Tornados). yeah I've been watching it since the early 90s...
Recently, I loved the bronco build on trucks, and the minitruck build. I'm hoping the neighbor will get his fuel tank done on his 64, maybe I should show him the episode to light a fire under his butt? |

Re: "Trucks" on Spike
I have to agree with everything, I record and watch them but my son and I would love to have the money they spend on a budget build and we could build one hell of a show truck or off road rig. My jeep has lift and 31's and still have less than $600 in it. We just (giggle) every time they talk about a budget!!! And did everyone notice that xtreme's 2 car shop that half the time they were not in it. Just my 2 cents
