Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed

My wife was telling me that she remembers it being his "fishing truck"... "We always took it fishing when i was little"..... That would have been the late 70s... I think its been parked for around 25 years. She thinks he bought it new... need to sweet talk "DAD" into letting his favorite son inlaw getting her going LOL

Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed

Make sure you show up with some fishing poles, tackle and worms when you do. Do NOT mention the BB you plan to put in it. Hunker down, spit alot and talk about carrying on the family legacy. Draw maps in the dirt to your favorite fishing holes with a stick. Who knows, he might even volunteer to help with the resto!

Better yet, see if your wife will ask Daddy if she/you could have it. He'd probably have a harder time saying no to her than you!

Well keep on about it it! There's no way that thing would still be sitting there if it was me, id probably even tell him that I would get it going for him so he could drive it just so I wouldn't have to see it sit there.

If it were mine, I'd give her a good scrubbing behind the ears and consider a color sand and polish. Sure, it wouldn't be like new - but who'd want that in a killer cool ride like that anyway. Any sand-through would just contribute all the more to the patina.

That's gonna be a COOL ride with an even better story. Huge congrats.

Yes, please. Keep the camera close at hand when you drag her out of there. We want all the details. (We're all living vicariously through you)

Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed

OK, you need to convince him that moving it to the new shed and getting it up off the ground will help preserve HIS truck. You may as well wash it while you have it out! That may help him make up his mind...otherwise it will just rot away till it's only good for scrap!

Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed

Well guys my father inlaw called me the other night to tell me he drug the old truck out and washed it off. He decided it needed to be in his new building with his tractor collection. I will post up a few pics i took. He still uses 35mm so i will need to scan in the pictures he took of the cleaning process . its in really good shape. it was last tagged in 1984. LOL
