Driller 35,You remember the Barbara Mandrell song "I was country when country was'nt cool"...Gary has been doing these trucks for over 30yrs...Before they were classic or popular. He is one of the few guys that still has the correct woodgrain for doing dash, glove box and door panels. Hope that helps...Paul

Sounds like he does nice work on these trucks,anyone have a pic of one of his done up dashes

The original dashes, glovebox doors, and door panels were not 3m Di-noc wrapped. They were photoetched into aluminum on the door panels and glovebox, and then the dash had a thin plastic that was photoetched. I don't know how many times we can go over this in about 3 weeks time. Not trying to be rude about this, but if you have original pieces off of trucks, you can see what I am talking about. If the pieces were wrapped/covered with 3m Di-Noc, they would peel eventually, but that is not the case with the original. If you scratch the woodgrain, it goes into the aluminum, thus it was etched into the aluminum or silkscreened. 3m woodgrain was only used for the outside woodgrain trim.

The original woodgrain dashes do not shrink or stretched like the reproduction woodgrain decals do, even buying woodgrain dashes from Gary does not guarantee that they won't peel up or shrink as some others have mentioned in a couple of the threads about this topic. Gary does do nice work, but if you want to have a 100% original type truck, the 3m Di-Noc is not correct on the interior. Trevor
