Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
I'm using the ORD high cross over steer kit and love it..quality is very good. I got a great deal on mine but otherwise yes there are kinda pricey! I have ran 60s in about 5 different trucks now and always replace the springs and poly king pin bushings..never had the death wobble yet..and I dont even run a steering stabilizer in my extended cab K-30 after doing the crossover..and you can run down the road at 75 mph with one finger on the wheel!
I hadn't heard of Ballitic till you mentioned it..just checked out there website and looks like some awesome stuff to me..and yes it would be hard to beat those prices. I do believe you would be ahead with your heavy tire wheel combo to go with the springless kit...either way I believe you will love the outcome after going crossover..with the amount of lift you have I would consider it a necessity not overkill.

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
Yukon- I got a question. so do you have to use stock Dana 60 front spring plates to mount this? I thought you had bought some superlift ones? I have a chevy 60 that I will be putting in the front of my 72 k5 blazer and need some plates. Just want the right ones.

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
Use the Dana 60's spring plates. I bought a bolt kit from Superlift - ended up that the supplied studs were too long so I used bolts.

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
A number of websites sell custom Dana 60 spring plates if you have trouble finding a pair of factory plates.

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
What steering combo did you end up going with? I am looking at upgrading the steering on my 71 GMC. The factory steering setup isn't working and I plan on installing a 8" lift yet.

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
Also on ORD I see it said you needed a 2wd steering box. Did you have to use one?

Re: I think my truck is trying to tell me something
Regardless of the manufacturer of crossover kits, they all require a 2wd steering box. I haven't had time to do crossover yet but at this point I'm leaning heavily towards Ballistic Fabrications setup. Probably do this in the fall.
