I'm in! Especially the floor pans because they are first on the list. Do you want the money now, or when you deliver! Ha! j/k. Let us know when you are ready to show us all how to do it. Jeff.

I'm interested as well. I've been putting off some of these repairs because I don't really know how to start.

I'm interested too. I've got to replace the rockers and a portion of the floorboard on mine. Would love to have a good video showing step-by-step how to replace them.

I'm definately in...
I'd be most interested in repairs to the cab...rockers, floors, supports, etc... Great idea. I certainly don't mind paying a fair price for something that's going to be really valuable to me while putting a couple bucks in your pocket.

efabman, you should DEFINITELY make a profit on your work and knowledge. Your work is as good as any and better than most. Get you a DVD recorder and a Canon XL-1. It's a DVcam that does a commercial quality job for a (premium) hobby price. Find an experienced camera/production/editing guy that will do it for a piece of the action or you can Use Adobe Premiere for editing and do it yourself. Keep those costs low and profits high!
Btw, I'll take one!

A very good idea efab... & if you put effort into a project such as this, there's no reason you shouldn't be compensated for it. How about a poll for outlining/organizing sheetmetal fab priorities?
I can weld sheetmetal & do patch panels, but I would be interested in experienced ways of aligning body panels, doors, hoods, etc. & get body gaps consistently even.

Whoever mentioned the DVD format had a great idea - I bet there is even someone on here who would take your VHS or camcorder film and put it on DVD for you if that isn't something you know how to do or want to do. I may never do my own bodywork but I'd be interested in seeng it done by someone with your skills.
Course after seeing tips, maybe I would try it, never know.

efabman...
Here's an idea...how about you use my truck for the video? It's a perfect canidate...needs a little of everything. I already responded but I have to say that this is a great idea. If I could actually buy a video with someone showing me how to fix a 67-72 Chevy cab...it doesn't get any better than that. Hopefully you will cover some minor details like setting up the welder, etc...

Efabman,
We do all of our own video editing and copying here at the office. We make VHS and CDs. If you would like some info on what we use and other options, give me a call. Edwin Erlbacher Pushcorp 972 840 0208 ex411

I'm in! I think it's a great idea! I did a lot of stick welding in a previous life, never had the opportunity to much sheet metal welding, which is a desirable skill for restoring these trucks. You shouldn't feel bad about charging for the video, you should be rewarded for your talents. I don't think anybody on this board would mind at all paying a fair price for a practical education. Good luck in production!

Hey E,
I will be down in Charlotte this weekend, I will bring my truck and camcorder and we can get started. Just kidding! I will put in a vote for cab corners and rockers. Let me know if I can help in any way with your little project. I do have a pretty decent camera, and can be there in about a hour and a half to two hours. I have family there, so a place to stay as well. Let me know, seriously. Jason

Like someone else said, I'm not sure what arrangements you may have made already as far as getting the final product made, but I have the setup to get them editted/produced and can get it into a DVD version also if you are interested.
I'm still very new to the trucks, so I don't get a chance to contribute much to the forums, but this is one place where I can help out. Let me know... Alan Elk Grove, CA |

I'd be interested in the process all the way from square one, as in a guy who's never touched a welder in his life. I'm sick of paying other people to do what I have the ability to do, but not the experience or knowledge.
Thanks, Tynee BTW, sorry if I offended you with the PM I sent. I didn't intend for you to just give away something that you have obviously worked hard to build for yourself (previously mentioned knowledge and experience).
