Re: Original 2wd Blazer frame in salvage yard

I don't have any extra tow hooks, but I'd trade you a nice '68 cruise setup for it if you can get it to me.

Re: Original 2wd Blazer frame in salvage yard

Hugger, let me sleep on it, can you post a pic? If I decide to pass, can you trade someone else for some tow hooks and then we can trade? Thanks.

I'll try to do that tomorrow and maybe we can work something out.

Re: Original 2wd Blazer frame in salvage yard

I seen this thread the day it was posted. Then i thought about it and deceided to make the haul and go get the frame. I left my house saturday and made the 16 hour trip to texas. I got there late sunday and went and looked to make sure they still had it. I seen it was still there so monday morning got there when they opened and started stripping it. Within 3 hours had it stripped loaded and headed home.

Nice to hear that you saved it - it would have been sad to see it go to the crusher!

VERY NICE, it did look like a nice frame, I'm glad it was still there and you saved it. Rare 2wd frame!

I'm VERY happy someone got this. I really didn't want it to get crushed but kinda figured it had already happened. You have to tell us more about everything. Did the frame look unmolested? How much did it cost you? Did Pick-n-Pull act like they were used to someone buying an entire frame? Did you find any more usable parts off it? Did they give you a title with just a frame purchase? I figure beings I brought it up here on the forum you at least owe me that info.

Kidding, if you aren't comfortable telling all the details, I understand.

The frame does look pretty good. It doesnt look like its ever been wrecked. The frame ended up costing me $150. I got just the bare frame and the lower a arms. I dont think they sell to many frames. They wanted me to drag it up to the front myself. I ended up talking the guys setting cars to lift the body off and take the frame to the front. I really wish i could have got a title with it. Would be nice to have a 2wd blazer title. I did get the vin tag though hoping some day i can get title for it.

Re: Original 2wd Blazer frame in salvage yard

Cool! Glad it worked out for you. By the way, I drove 14 hours each way this summer for a nice single wall top, so I know what you went through.
