Re: Headers for LS1?

we use MSD wires ($75 shipped) and I am using the stock dipstick tube, just not running THRU the header tubes and I made a mounting bracket that attaches to the head and the dipstick. very simple.

I have another customer that did use the stock tube thru the headers but it took some effort.

having seen the work needed for the Pacesetters I like the DTs. I do not have a problem cutting frame but the denting of the tubes that have to be done turned me off.

But either way, I can ship you what ever you want.

Hard to see in this picture but the bracket I made is there and I am using BLACK MSD Fbody Wires.

Re: Headers for LS1?

Well I work at a shop building engines so we have Taylor wires by the roll, so I plan on just making my own length wires. As for the dipstick I have about 100 different ones lying around, I'm sure one will have to work out. I'm sorry that's probably not much help for most people I have access to some pretty nice resources

Does Taylor offer the "bendable" boots like MSD has or is it just the 90* end?

Re: Headers for LS1?

Hi, I've put the Pace Setters in my '63 with a dropmember and they fit good. I've only got one spot to address and I think I can get it without pounding on the header tube. Got them from Summit and they matched the cheapest price I found online:

PLEASE support those vendors that support this great board.
I have some of the lowest prices on Pacesetter headers you will find anywhere and I ship for free. The prices you see is the price you pay.

Thanks!

Apologies for bringing up an old thread. What is the part # on the MSD wires? I bought a set, MSD part # 32819, and they appear to be to short. Any suggestions,

What coils do you have?
But you should be able to bend the plug side boot enough to reach the coils.

They are the factory truck coils (06 Tahoe). They are stretched so far, I don't think they will last. I'll snap a couple of pictures, but everyone else that I have seen that has these, don't look like a bungy cord.....

Stupidity I guess, . I looked in the thread for the Thorley headers and could have swore that the Fbody wires were correct. Will you give me some trade on the Fbody wires?

F-body wires work depending on the coils you have. some are flat and some are round.

Red or Black F-body wires?

Re: Headers for LS1?

I'm planning on carbing my 5.3 and relocating my coils and changing the valve covers. If I go with the Thorley headers what kind of problems do you guys see me running into with plug wires? Any suggestions?

IF you know the lengths you want of each wire I can have a custom set made from MSD wire or you can make your own....
