Re: First year for standard shoulder belts?

I didn't get pulled over for it, officer pulled in behind me in a parking lot .

He really didn't believe the no shoulder belts, was even more shocked when the VIN tag wasn't on the dash. ('73, on door jamb. lap belts only.)

He had all my info. When he checked the registration, saw the year, he asked where the VIN tag was. Opened the drivers door, there it was. Along with me, belted in. He did look where the mounting point would be. Thanked me, and apologized. He did learn something that day. He was probably in his 20's, so had to cut him some slack.
