Re: Authentic Radial(?) Tires for 1962 C-10
Oh sorry bro, just wanna see it full circle now that you have all four tires on it, just when you get a chance and if you could tell me the inch height of those tires also would be much appreciated. I want that old stock look and those tires look really cool. I'm running p235 15's now..

I love the look of your truck. I'm an "all original" kind of guy myself. You're really concerned about tire size, but your wheels should be black instead of body color and the reproduction chrome mirrors are not really correct. mirror arm should be body color with a round black head. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..I'm not throwing stones at you or your truck.

I think rims did come body color (correct me?). I'd be okay with black. Hate those repop mirrors! I'm keeping an eye out for the real deal. Most mirrors seam pretty messed up. Most of what I've done to the truck cant be seen, but I'm pretty sure the junk parts I took off would make a good size pile. Like all my cars, I use only NOS parts since I've owned it, or USA replacement parts if I have to. |

Good to know. I was going to replace the hood this year due to rust...maybe I'll paint the rims black at the same time.

I think you also wanted to know the tire height/diameter(?)... Ground to center? or Ground to top? or Side to side? I remember when I ordered these tires the advertised diameter was .1 inch different than Coker's advertised size for a 6.70x15 bias. I'll ask my son to measure the actual tire size and pressures. |

Re: Authentic Radial(?) Tires for 1962 C-10
Old but Good Thread, so it's coming back to life.
I'm running the original 5.5" wheel that I had Powder coated satin black. I have 215/75R15 tires, Has anyone run 215/85R15 on the original wheel? Info, or pictures as we all like pictures. There was a lot talked about the 235 being to wide, that's why my idea is the 215/85 as it should be ok for the wheel and fill the wheel wells and be ok for truck stuff towing an aluminum fishing boat, and hauling materials for work or my honey do list. Thanks Guys. |

Re: Authentic Radial(?) Tires for 1962 C-10
The problem is the 85 series ( tall and narrow) does not exist in 15" size, unless they have just become available to the market? However, the 85 series is common in 16 sizes. IMO, the 7.00-15, either bias or radial, is the most authentic looking tire height and tread out there.
