Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

H.B. pier parking lot would work directly across from the Dairy Queen. If there was a cool burger joint somewhere with a big lot that would be ideal.

Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

Theres also the Bob's Big Boy in Downey, the HAMB guys been meeting there a lot, ive gone a few times real kewl feel....theres Frisco Burger in Downey, also a cruise place....There is a Ruby's Diner at the end of HB pier but such a far walk from the trucks. Now I know of a place in El Segundo at the beach where theres a cool burger hut and also tons of parking where it would just be us....Its called Kevaccino's, straight out the 105fwy, take imperial hwy to Vista Del Mar, turn left (do not turn into the Dockweiler State Beach parking lot) The next pay lot make right into (in front of water plant).

I think the D.Q. in Long Beach is a great idea. Im also going to Pomona but, I can be there by noon. The rest of you should get on board with this and if in the future you want to put one together at another spot, then great.

Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

I say we do this one to start then we'll get everyones input and hopefully move them around. I'm thinking getting together every 3 months or so in a differnet location would be great.

Nice big parking lot and some nice scenery. The only thing is Pomona swap is that day but I'm going to hit it early then head down to the beach.

Let me know.
Awsome! I'm down (as far as I know). Right next door to TK Burger. My favorite burger place (period) and across the street from tons of beach parking as well. Should I bring the '87 or just hoof it on down. I usually take the beach cruiser to TK.

There's lots of metered parking right there on First and free parking up First a little ways as well. I was actually there Sunday.

Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

I've got a couple friends that live out in SD that I've been thinking about visiting recently, now I really want to get out there and hit up the meet. I wouldn't be able to bring the truck though, I doubt it would make a trip across town by then, let alone a trip across the country.... maybe next years meet?

Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

Man, I used to live right down there by where you guys are meeting. Right next to where the 405 and 22 meet in Garden Grove off of Garden Grove Bvd. Now I am about a 10 hour drive away. If this becomes a regular meet then I'll try to make a big one once I've got my '65 up, running, and reliable enough to make the drive. December is always touchy for me though, the passes to come down the mountain can be quite bad this time of year.

You can't beat a drive down the coast highway in an ol truck. We're gunna do this again for sure, maybe hang tight until the next one. More than likely more people etc.

Re: So Cal 60-66 get together???

It's 14 degrees here in minnesota. I'd love to go down to Cal. for a run like this and I got a buddy up here that would love it too. I know I cant make it. Maybe you get one going in the the middle of the 48. I guess me and Kart will get together up here for a burger and 15-17 quick beers. Have fun and post pics!
