I saw that same show with Chip Foose. I actually saw him at the show too. He was upstairs by the main entrance from the garage hanging out.
Congrats on your truck! I didn't realize that was a board members. There sure were a lot of nice cars and a few questionable ones - did anyone see the black '74 Challenger. It had rust under the rear window and in the lower quarter panels. I have to say that I was a little disappointed at all the pro-built rides. There is just something less impressive when you know the owner just forked over $ to get a nice car. Still some amazing craftsmanship.

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to getting together this summer in Washington or Oregon to meet other board members.
Bouncy Truck has a point. I sat in the awards ceremony and as they announced the winners they would often say who actually built the vehicle. Now I'm not taking anything away from them. Most probably had a vision of what they wanted, they just had someone execute that vision for them. I can't say I did everything on my truck. I did weld in the floor boards, rockers, cab corners and spent many days scraping, grinding, etc. I have so many hours into this truck I can't count them all (but I bet my wife can). I had a professional do the finish body work and paint but some day I will learn to do that also. (Save me a ----pot of money if I do.) Overall its a great experience and I look forward to doing another one! (I'm addicted.) |
