I find it ironic that there are no Led Zeppelin songs in the movie.

The reason there aren't is Jimmy Page and Robert Plant didn't give Director Richard Linklater permission to use their music in the movie, though he was allowed to use a the title.

That's funny cuz they way you feel about Matthew McConnehey(sp?) is the way I feel about Ben Affleck. I can't stand the guy. His role in this movie kinda makes me think he's the same way in real life. He reminded me of alot of the guys I really disliked and couldn't stand to be around in school. Real jerks that tried to be cool by doing mean stuff or playing pranks on alot of people, but when it happenend to them, they would get pee'd off and show out like idiots.

I still can't stand to watch movies with Ben Affleck. I do agree with you on the pink pants, though. That is kinda lame, but hey, it was the 70's and I've seen worse.

I was going to say the same thing. In my time (a few years before this movie was staged) and where I went to school the jocks like Affleck were only cool to the small "school spirit" group and nobodies to the rest of us. A guy like him would be considered "out of it" and of course,"childish". Afterall, there was a revolution goin' on!

Re: the movie Dazed & Confused 1971 chevy

Wow, I didn't realize how popular the movie was with the folks on this web site. I should have known though. It's one of the very few movies that "featured" our years truck. I didn't know how many trucks came with the two vertcal "bumpers" on the front fender. I don't see those too often. And I'd love to rent the movie to see the SPID in the ending credits (I'm suprised they put the SPID in the credits!!!). Very cool. I thought the movie did a great job of portraying the kids in that day. But I don't think they would of had as many nice cars/trucks as they did. It was truely a "tough" truck in the movie and I'm glad to hear it's still around. Hold onto those trucks!

I've had dads c-20 custom camper longhorn for 3 years now and it never fails to get the looks/comments when i take it out. It's original and in great condition. I'm getting the master cylinder replaced monday (the brake pedal pressure was unreliable), new antenae put on, lug nuts (I guess after all these years the nuts become tight to get off due to being tightened against the wheel and the edges get a bit crimped down on the bolt). So continued work on it, but worth every penny. I'll put up a pic as soon as I can. JJ

Thanks for posting pics of the truck, good job.

big egos are fun aren't they? if I were a major musician i would jump at the chance to get my music in front of as many people as possible...especially before the days of the interweb. they could have dominated that soundtrack.

Yup. This movie is the main reason I got involved in the 67-72's.

You got a joint, man?
Nah.
You'd be a lot cooler if you did...

80s Z28 wheels on the TA in the background too. I noticed it the first time I saw the movie. There are very few period errors issues that slipped through that movie. One of my all time favs.
