I put stuff up as I go with the cross member. Mine is one of his earlier versions. It's very similar though. His new ones look REAL nice and so do the arms he is making now. I have the Air Ride arms (I bought them before Porterbuilt started making his own) for mine with Baer brakes on drop spindles. |

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Frame notch cut, got ready weld...and no gas...on a Sunday. I had to bolt one side up so I could get a preview. I still need to trim the lip on the inside of the fenders so it will go all the way down.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
The front is pretty much done now with the exception of putting the bags on. I welded up the notches for the steering yesterday. I'll try to post some pictures later. I'm trying to decided whether to attack the motor or the rear suspension next...

Re: 72 Suburban Build
I cut the front fenders to get it down to where its supposed to be and started working on the back. I pulled the fenderwells out in the back, removed the exhaust, and pulled the shocks and coils. Unfortunately the project will probably go on hold for the majority of the next 2 weeks because I am moving my wife and kid out to San Diego.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Well I got the rear stripped down to the frame and set the notches on. Hopefully I can get the holes drilled tomorrow and cut it on Saturday. The goal is to have the rear done by Monday...

Re: 72 Suburban Build
With the help of my garage assistants I got the front bags on (this was before I started on the back) and put a good dent in the motor work.
