Re: I Didn't have the heart to steal parts off this truck.
It doesn't matter I'll be there all day, just look for a red 71 short fleet with a for sale sign, it will be parked next to a 66' short fleet "without" a for sale sign.

Re: I Didn't have the heart to steal parts off this truck.
I'm sure they did, the one pictured looked like it had been repainted at one time.

Re: I Didn't have the heart to steal parts off this truck.
I'm glad you didn't cut it down to a shortbed.
Long beds rule, too many shorties getting all the press. They look deformed to me, Ha, my eyes like the proportions of the long beds better. "To each his own" Nice original truck, a rare gem for sure.

Doesn't matter if it's long or short, it's what you put in it !
A truck ain't a truck unless it's got 8 feet. |

Re: I Didn't have the heart to steal parts off this truck.
Sorry...gotta disagree...6 in a row makes it go. Besides...only options for engines off the GM line used to be the I6. lol

Re: I Didn't have the heart to steal parts off this truck.
For decades, all I built was shortbed fleetsides. All my longbeds were considered to be parts haulers and I never did any hot rod stuff to them. I'm doing my first longbed hot rod right now, and I'm starting to like it. You've got more room for stuff and they ride a whole lot nicer. Maybe I'm getting older and starting to mellow.
As long as it's got a Chevy emblem (or GMC) on the side, I'm a fan. I like 'em all...short, long, fleet, step, flatbed.
