SquareBore to Spreadbore Adaptor Plate! (Is it Necessary?)

I've had the adapters and they work ok. I never noticed a crack, but it did develop a small vacuum leak on the manifold side after awhile. I got a deal on an intake and never looked back. One thing I can highly recommend is a heat insulator gasket with an Edelbrock carb. You'll be happy you did in the summer months.

BTW, the Edelbrock intake you would want would be pn 2161. I got mine off ebay for $50... It's for the peanut ports that I assume you have.

I had a carb spacer test saved on my computer but the computer is no longer... And I can't find the article again. But take a look and tell me how bending the air almost 80* right as it exits the carb isn't going to be detrimental?

This is an Edelbrock adapter pictured. I have this adapter on my stock 350 with an Eledbrock carb and it works fine. I did however smooth the casting with a file and some 80 grit as it was a little rough (made in china)
A square bore will not bolt on a Q-Jet intake. You must use adapter
