I painted mine up also and it turned out ok.
One other trick I just learned is the new 2010 camaro water pumps have the correct angled filler neck but use the current truck spacing for the belt. In other words if you swap to the new water pump you can use your current accessories and might be able to get by with a car style intake.
That is a cheaper route for the swap I believe.

Truck intakes are fugly any way you cut it. But they work great.

How about a pro-flo XT?

You have enough motor for the Pro Flo, you just might lose a little bit of bottom end.
