Getting A/C going for first time on 5.3l

okay... after two different adapters, and using the stock fitting, I still get this... What am I missing?

Doesn't look lke the adapter has the step down part on it. Is it flat across the bottom? If it is , it isn't going to seal. How did you try the stock fitting?

It's stepped. I used the hose that came with the compressor. I just sealed the other end so it wouldn't leak. I just wanted to see if it was the adapter or something else. The compressor is a 10s17f.

If it still leaked with the factory fitting, I would suspect you either don't have the right seal (o ring) or maybe the compressor is cracked or has a gouge around the seal surface that isn't letting it seal properly.

That's what I am afraid of. I used new seals and used old seals and same deal.

okay, so I took off the compressor to have a closer look. So it first I noticed a light cut on the high side, but it does not go all the way down to where the oring seats. Also checked how the fittings seat. The suction side seats well, but the high side has 1/8 of a gap between the fitting and the compressor. once I tighten it, it starts to move out of its seat. Has any one ever experience this? I tried the stock fitting as well as the adapter and they both fit the same way. Also, I noticed the pulley is slightly damaged, but it spins smoothly. I also noticed some trash inside the compressor, that can be flushed out, right?

If it was me id replace that compressor it was either droped hard or wrecked and theres no telli g the damage inside

Well, after a new compressor, I have cold air! So the high side on the compressor did have a small scratch on the seat which caused it to leak.

Okay another question, I currently show 35psi on the low side. It blows cold air and all. However, I don't see the clutch cycling. I have a trinary switch on the high side. Do I need more refrigerant?

35 is good not all a/c compressorz cycle on and off if its blowing cold id leave it.

Btw i like to see 35-45 on the low side and 175-250 on the high side
