bingo! another variable, rim off-set. look at the tires on my k5, pretty much flush with the body, now check out rubble's rigs, out past the fender. yeah, post some before & afters when your done

If your gonna spend that much money on a 4" lift, go to Offroaddesign.com and get a lift. Much better parts, and will ride better than stock.

yup, time to lite up the c.card!,nice being able to get everything at once! only other thing i would get is a new s. stabilizer for them big new tires that's going to cook whats left of your card. nice, basic, reliable lift, very similar to what i got except a little bigger

Used to buy a lot of parts from offroaddesign too great source to get jst what you need! They know them inside and out I'd contact them and ask what you need to do what your looking for.. as far as $1500 for a 4" lift sounds like a rip off.. maybe an 8" kit with full leaf packs front and rear for that much would make sence.. I build a lot of jeeps now and have been using a lot of rough country stuff they have come along ways and their stuff is very affordable! With skyjacker your just paying for the name..

The invoice I posted above was from ord forum members persuaded me to order from them and thats that they told me I needed. Added up to be 1500 with shipping just wanting every ones thoughts before I order it. And I believe they said tough country springs is what ill be getting. I decided to not get skyjacker

Seems like your getting a lot there not bad.. check out rough country tho for $350 you can get front leaf packs 4shocks rear blocks and steering bracket.. if blocks bother you could always swap in the ord shackle flip.. if you plan to run 35"s or bigger and use the truck offroad I'd go at least 6". I had 7" lift with 36" swampers and they rubbed on backs of front fenders while wheeling. But the great thing bout these trucks is you can always upgrade and addon for more lift ect easy enough

There is a reason they are called rough country.....Might as well put solid links in place of the springs, cause it will be just the same...Jeep stuff and fullsize stuff are totally different....

i guess i'm an anomaly. i have skyjacker 8" springs, much better than rough country ( i think r.country only goes to 6" anyways), but their shocks suck, i do have rough country nitro shocks though, decent shocks & reasonably priced.$1500 is a good price for a complete lift. despite what some say, you'd be hard pressed to get every thing you are for that price, & ORD is one of the better fullsize GM lift companies, i'm running their shackle flips & some D60 parts (love to get their coilovers). heck, i have just over 2g's in my 8" lift on my 1 ton crew (and a couple more g's in tires!). a single stabilizer is around $70-$80, a dual stabilizer will set you back $130-$150

yes the old roughcountry shocks suck as with many of the aftermarket shocks they are just repainted monroe shocks.. the new 2.2 shocks are great tho.

ok everyone i made a video so everyone can see the truck before the lift and ill make another after the lift is done... will still be awhile got some parts in but other parts are still on back order so im still waiting on all the stuff to be here.

I ordered two kits from ORD on April 18. I hadn't heard anything from them on shipping other than being told Tough Country was waiting on U bolts. I called again on the 10 th and they told me the entire package was being shipped that day.

I would assume yours will be on its way now too.

rolling gear would be them big new tires your putting on. thats a good looking '85 you got there, (i'm biased, my crew is a '85!) nice when you can take body work out of the equation, & put that money into other things.
