I hope that I can get some extra money up and do mine real soon. Not sure what color I will be going. I wish he hadn't found that color first.

We are more than happy with the transformation of his truck.

Re: Guess my bug was contagious (F-I-L's Truck)

Okay, went over there today and was able to get some better pics of the truck. Its a dreary day here so not the best lighting.

Need to find some hubcaps. We were told that the original style would not fit this rim but today we stopped by a friends house who is a mechanic and he happened to be working on a 1965 truck. We popped off one of the original style and it did fit this rim so he is hoping that he can find a set of used ones in good shape.

The truck our friend was working on today had the boards in the bed so we also tried them on his truck to see what they looked like. ( I see a future project in his future cause he sure did like them)

And one more of the proud owner holding my son.

Re: Guess my bug was contagious (F-I-L's Truck)

Here are a few from last night. We was working on the bed wood. My father in law decided that he wanted to try it our self using pine and flat bar. He chose pine because its cheaper (Free....since he had a bunch of pine 2x6s......yeah, we planed them down that far) and we were not sure how many mistakes we would make. In the future he will prob. change it to either oak or some other type of nicer wood.

When he started he was using black bolts but we decided to go to stainless bolts. You can see in the pictures that we still have a few black bolts left to change.

Me and my little helper

Father in law.....Bozo

This is the hubcaps we found locally. We are going to paint them white with the bowtie being the same color as the truck. Anyone know what year those hubcaps were from and what they were on?

Thank you....we were not sure. He would have loved to have some of the more original hubcaps but could not find any good used ones and he was never going to pay 299 for a set of the new.

Here is the sign we had made up for my father in law's truck. Everyone calls him Bozo......I know someone was going to ask.
