Re: It''s about TIME!

Final product and hear is a pick of my shifter box welded onto my dog house. also that is the rats nest of wires running to the NSS, the back up lights and then indicator light in the shifter. It was a mess!

That battery tray looks as shot as mine, but a different design. Live and Learn! I thought all chevy's your and my body style had the same fenders and inner fenders, battery trays, and radiator supports.

Re: It''s about TIME!

I love the floor shift. Is it hard to delete the column shift and put it on the floor?

If I buy the hurst floor shifter kit, does it come with the pieces to reach the tranny?

Yea I thought that too. To answer your other ? it was really easy! Just make sure u do one of 2 things. When u take the gear shifter out have it in part, this will allow u to start it and have the neutral safety switch on park. I would not recommend this because it would allow u to start in gear witch would be bad! Or when u get a shifter make sure it's got a NSS and break light switch with it (most hurst or B&M's do) cut spice and your off.

Cool, thanks! Guess I will be able to figure it all out once I remove the steering column and break it down.

Re: It''s about TIME!

Ok I've done a lot of work so far. so to start she is running well and seems to be liking the drive time. I've been doing a little body work like filling in holes and such. i scraped off all of the rust on my tail gait and repainted it, i was bored. but we had our first big rain up hear and there was water coming in buy my feet. i found the problem there was a big whole up on the driver side top of the windshield. so i welded it in and she seems to hold water.

2 questions, how did you paint the tailgate, spray gun or rattle can?
What size exhaust is that?

Re: It''s about TIME!

Rattle can and I used the protective enamel gray, stuff is tuff as hell to chip off. I use it as a base for just about everything. And 2 1/2 inch. It was way easy, I need to get a pic of it on the truck. The passenger side hangs lower then the driver but it all works out.

Re: It''s about TIME!

Well i noticed a wile back that my carb sucked..... never mind i always new my carb sucked and i finally got tired of having to floor it from a stop light so i went a looking for a new carb. I found this Holly 670 street avenger that didn't look in to bad o shape and got it. I had a buddy who knew what he was doing, unlike me when i rebuilt my demon, go though it and set it up right. I finally finished hooking up all the fuel lines and such today and got it started! WOW!!! i did not know what i was missing! It drives like a new truck! sounds quieter, rides smoother and the throttle response is so sexy!!!! I am way pleased! hears some picks of the carb and my old demon.

I looked at the build sheet on the bottom of the seat and mice ate half of it! so i have no idea what color combo it is, i looks like the doors have been really badly resprayed and cleared (nothing on the truck besides the doors have clear) so i wish i could give ya more.

Re: It''s about TIME!

I also recently replaced the old rubber cab bushings on my 76 C20 with Prothane motion control bushings which i think you also used. I am just curious if your cab now sits higher than your bed? Because mine with the new bushings looks to be about and inch or so higher than my bed is now. Do you happen to know what the torque specs are for the cab bolts? I couldn't find any so i just cranked them down until i felt it was sufficient but would feel a lot better knowing they were torqued correctly.
