Re: Project "Blue Belle"
Pretty sure that is like a PCV valve. It is a crankcase breather of some sort.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
That's pretty common. You wil lhave to drill them out. You may need a helicore when it is done.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
been super busy cleaning and prepping engine for paint. got all the things i need for my fuel lines and such. It literally took me all day yesterday to figure out what I needed from Glock's "fred" thread. I think me just being a newbie and all is what took so long but I think I am getting the hang of it now. Heres a pic just after she was soaped up and washed off. I think I am going to take a wire wheel to block to get the remaining rust off.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
Slowed down for a bit but now I am trying to pick up the pace. I stripped the wiring harness and left only the necessary items. LT1swap was super helpful. Going to hit the block tonight with a wire wheel and hopefully it will be ready to paint on Sunday.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
Will LS1 exhaust manifold fit on my 2004 5.3 V8? I am looking at buying them so they will clear my frame. Any advice?

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
found a guy near me selling exhaust manifold and cats off a 2010 Camaro SS. Asking for 200$ I know I can use the manifolds but can I use the cats and is that a good price?

I would imagine you could use the cats if you wanted to.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
yeah I have been debating. I haven't painted it yet cause I hadn't decided. I think I am going to get a different pan.. they are just so damn expensive. know of any place I can get a decent quality for decent price?

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
Ebay or on ls1tech.com classifieds. Luv the paint job on engine. Had mine on a engine stand for 6 months an never thought about painting it or the oil pan. Going to wait for tax time to change the front suspension maybe then I can.

Re: Project "Blue Belle"
first part of the week has been pretty busy. took the front clip off my truck... or course with the help of my little shop hands.
Now to power wash the frame and paint with por 15. I was just thinking about doing the front but its looking like I am going to be taking cab and bed off. It will make things a lot easier when I run my new fuel lines, pump, and filter. Wish me luck.... oh yeah I have never done this before. |
