Re: Is it a "good" project?

That poor truck.....It amazes me how some people abuse their stuff. It's almost like somebody intentionally beat that truck because EVERY panel is damaged.

I have to agree about talking the owner way down to to the extensive damage. I would offer scrap price for it.

But, if it were mine, I would get it running good and leave it alone. I would have it spotlessly clean, but leave the dents alone. I view that truck like an unwanted dog that got saved from a certain death at the dog pound. He might be ugly, but he'll be the most loyal buddy you've ever had.

Re: Is it a "good" project?

my 61k10 was almost that beat up, but it was a search and rescue truck. probably have some good stories if these old trucks could talk. nothing that a stud gun--hammer and Dollie--heat and filler can't fix. show truck NO! $200 max for me.

Re: Is it a "good" project?

Thanks for the input guys! I took the majority of the advice here and decided to pass on this truck. I'll keep my eyes open. Itching for another project here haha.

Cheers!

Re: Is it a "good" project?

take a battery and some gas with you and tell him you want to hear it run , when it doesnt start offer him 400 for it , if it lacks cab mounts and floorboards just walk away ....if it runs and wants to move and is somewhat solid get it running and drive it .. mine looked lkike it would only take a few days and I would be driving it , by the time I got it on the road i had 3k in it ...
