Re: sssoooo, I guess I went too low.

Ok. So its definitely gonna have to come back up a little. I hate to do it but the lower control arms sit "2 off the ground so smaller tires doesn't seem to be an option. It won't take long to swap the springs. Just gotta find some time. I'll post pics when Im done. thanks for all the suggestions.

The tops of the tires hit the inside of the fenders. I can barely put my fingers between the tires and the fenders now.

They're six inch wheels. No big deal. I'm just gonna come up a couple inches.

Re: sssoooo, I guess I went too low.

I just went through the same thing. I installed 2 1/2 CCP drop spindles with a coil cut off old springs. It was so low that the lower control arm was about 2 inches from the ground. So I bought a pair of OEM springs from Summit and installed them. Would you believe that it raised it way up! SO once again, I broke down the front end and cut a coil from the OEM springs. All is well. That worked out great. Springs shipped were just under 90 bucks.

I installed the factory springs this morning and it looks like I'm hitting the switches. My front end is way up. Lol. I was trying to decide how much to cut off now but I guess I'll start with one coil. Thanks for posting!

One coil removed is approximately 2" of drop.

I know. I had 1 1/2 cut off of the old ones and with the factory ones back in it, it has 6 inches of clearance. I'm tempted to go 1 1/2 again but I'm gonna start with 1.

Re: sssoooo, I guess I went too low.

I never did update this thread but I ended up using the springs off of the 78 donor. I cut 1 coil off then ended up taking another 1/4 off. Also I installed small bags in the rear and made the rear adjustable.

Thanks gentlemen. Not sure what's next. Just got the heater working and I've been driving it almost daily. I was thinking of a plasti dip flat black but I'm scared to pull the trigger. This site is the absolute best.

Re: sssoooo, I guess I went too low.

truck looks great!!! yes your peacock was showing. why was it showing? pet? random neighborhood/bird sanctuary?

if you pull the trigger on the dip let me know how it turns out? ive been considering doing that on my scion and then my truck. seems better than moisture absorbing primer

Thank you sir. It's just a neighborhood pet. He's pretty cool until he get's all his feathers and he becomes the noisiest MFer ever. I did the roof section with flat black plastidip. It's ok I guess but eventually I wanna do the whole roof in a crazy heavy metal flake green. If I ever get some money I can spare. You know how that goes.
