of course i've seen guys do it easily and save a buck or two but then i've seen guys break two or three and end up payin a pro to do it and end upspending 500-600 that way you could always put a free ad on craigslist for somebody to do it

Re: Windshield install in bay area
The installer needs to start at the top first, then work down to the bottom. Most will try doing it from the bottom up, and they will not seat correctly this way.

Re: Windshield install in bay area
I had a pro do mine, took 2 gaskets and three try's to get it right. They ended up working from the top down to keep the upper corners from wrinkling.
I also work at a Glass House. Precision gasket and 70' Deluxe trim...

Re: Windshield install in bay area
I've used 'Auto Glass on the Move', they're out of oakland, but I think they travel. I've usually call them when my car is at the body shop, and they go to the shop and work with them. They did my porsche, and hummer without a hitch, and they were able to get me a windshield for my 69 lincoln for about $400 less than everyone else. Of course that was a rare windshield, I'm sure these trucks are very common, so I highly doubt you'll pay as much as I did for my lincoln.
