Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
It remains to be seen if they can actually pull it off. I have enlisted the help of a few that had models they are looking for. I will keep the board posted if it looks like a go. We may need more trucks and more than c-10 models.

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
To bad it's so far away or I would bring mine. As long as I didn't pop the hood no-one would need to know about the motor.....Or I could say it was an option that chevy offered for an extra $1,000( what I paid for the intake, headers, and carb!) HAHAHAHAH!!!

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
I think its mostly the body style and interiors they are concerned with. A lot of the vehicles around here don't pop their hoods at the shows....their choice, but I never understood that. Even oil soaked original engines should be shown. A lot of kids come up and ask where the shifter is...I tell them its a column shift and they love it because its so rarely seen anymore. I can keep you posted also TJ. It'll be next spring that I was told...might be an epic road trip!!

Hell, I'm up for headin to the Salt Flats with y'all. Ain't got much to put against you two but always wanted to go there. Mine's pretty stock interior and body style so perfect candidate, but like T.J. said, money, gas, registration, insurance, lol.

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
Interesting requests.
My wife works in the funeral trade "cue puns" and a while ago during a conversation with a customer she was asked about using an American pickup truck as a hearse (remember we are in England, so less of them here) so we have decided that once the paint and body are done on the truck, it will be doing duty for weddings and funerals and any other work we can find for it. Other than that, I have had the usual "moving stuff" requests but when I say at cost of fuel and me ONLY DRIVING prospective movers disapear. That said, I am also 100% happy doing jobs for free for friends. Just the idiots who think trucks are there for their pleasure that I blow off. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
Well, Dad's 3/4 ton with the big block 496 is street legal, but if your gonna come with us I'll bring the 66 to! Load it in the trailer and off we go! Then it won't be unfair competition....well almost fair, I have a slight advantage! Just cause mines modified and is a little lighter......

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
Mine sees quite a few odd jobs (scrap runs, dump runs, moving, giving rides to people, transporting stuff) as long as my gas is covered and I make a few dollars (just gas for friends) I am o.k. with it but if they ask to borrow the truck it is a no, I don't even trust my family to drive it

Re: Unusual requests to use your truck...
That would be awesome to see. The 96 z71 I have is "stock" minus the tint, lift, hid lights, and brush guard but thatd be an easy fix. You oughtta bring the '63 up there.
