im 17, a student, and apprenticing mechanic. i just dont have the funds. i thought about a 6.0 swap.. but you dont see many olds big blocks anymore, you see alot of ls engines..

are you kidding you comparing a engine that make 325 ft lbs to a engine that makes 490 iirc ( i know buicks where 510 and olds was just under them and just right above a chevy but idr the actual number) but if you ran them against each other you would be setting at the finish line eating lunch waiting on ls truck. i love the ls engines but there not the same animal as the bop and caddi big blocks unless you basically get a ls that is basically the same displacement.

Re: something a little different?

There is nothing desirable about an olds 350 diesel. There is a reason there are none left.

Re: something a little different?

ya know i read about how some ppl that had them in delta 88s actually made a good engine out of them. required pretty much rebuilding entire engine and adding a turbo. but a delta 88 with a powerful diesel is neat.
