Re: Snow storms

We are getting some snow right now...its not sticking tho'.
Its pretty uncommon around these parts to get snow for more than a day or two given the fact that our climate is a lot like Seattles.
No shortage of rain usually tho'......LOL

Re: Snow storms

Yup I spoke too soon!
We got a nice dump. It'll be gone in a few days.
4 inches here but none down at the harbour 3 miles away.

Re: Snow storms

None here now, actually been real nice the last couple days, 65-70ish, but I'm sure we'll see some more before spring. I was in Indianapolis the first week of January when they got so much the government made it illegal to drive for all but emergency/etc vehicles. Nasty stuff sometimes, but overall I love the snow.

Re: Snow storms

We've accumulated about 4 ft. of snow so far this year.. The front clip to my truck is buried in front of the bed in the first picture and that big hump of snow way in the back is the cab.

Re: Snow storms

Typical Idaho winter here, highest accumulation was about a foot, road cleared in a few days but we had 4-6 inches of ice in the yard for a month. Here are some photos of my DD from past years, including one going over the Santiam Pass in Oregon with chains on and ice from the beltline down. I grew up driving these old cars and trucks in the snow in the 60's so its no big deal, just carry a survival bag just in case.

I see a couple of minnesota posts here. What a winter it has been! And it isn't over yet. Here is a couple of pics from the 23rd also. Running out of places to put snow. And right now it is -24 with a -38 windchill. Good thing the other 3 seasons make it worth living here.

Re: Snow storms

Wow, that's crazy. You guys look like you live in the mountains with all that snow. We finally got a decent little rain last night, and a pretty big storm is on the way - the hills might actually turn green for a month or so before they turn brown again for the summer. We are still on tap for a record dry year. Hopefully the El Niņo they are predicting for next year will hit.
