Re: The pusher
Can those mooneye wheel covers be screwed to aluminum wheels too? Like weld racing rims? I love those and believe you can get them with center spikes and a starburst pattern too... Like this car... I'm getting some.

Re: The pusher
Just another pic. As you can see from looking at both side of the truck, someone over the years was able to put equal dent-making time into each of the doors.

Hope it's not illegal to own a F*** otherwise I'm in trouble too..!
One last question from me - how did you pick out the script on your valve covers - was it just a steady hand ?

Re: The pusher
This project is too cool, I love it.
Looking forward to seeing it completed. I'm assuming you did the fauxtina paint job yourself? Regardless it looks great.

Re: The pusher
Thanks. No faux-tina on the truck except for the signage on the doors. This is the original paint and original wear and tear. It has spent 50 years in Phoenix, AZ.

Re: The pusher
Very nice! The gray "283" with script valve covers looks so much better than an SBC covered in Taiwanese chrome crap.

Re: The pusher
The base for the ram air assembly sits on top of the motor waiting for the snorkel assembly and hoses. One of the inflow tubes mounted in place can be seen at the bottom of the picture just left of center.

Re: The pusher
I was staring at that picture thinking pretty much the same thing. Endless-you and Chip are doing a heck of a nice job.

Fired up the motor for the first time today. I will load the video later. My wife took some pics.

Re: The pusher
Modified air cleaner assembly rests in primer. Twin air intakes. Two flex hoses (one on either side of the motor) will eventually run from the air intake tubes mounted on either side of radiator back into the modified air cleaner assembly seen in this pic.
*Note: This was originally supposed to be a two week project and it has been nearly five months now....so we are right on schedule. |

The air cleaner looks great! I know what you mean about schedules. Even the best-laid plans get changed because things just happen. I always fall prey to "while I've got it apart, I may as well just (insert modification here)"........and quick jobs become long, drawn-out money drainers. I like doing stuff once, and it drives me crazy to have to tear something apart that I spent so much time and effort to make it look as perfect as I could. They never seem to look as good the second time around. You've got a good guy working with you. Chip can take awhile, but he's meticulous and he'll research EVERYTHING with the intent of doing things right. When you get your truck on the road, it'll be awesome and you'll have years and years of enjoyment. A little more time spent now will pay off in spades later. You guys are doing it the right way.

Re: The pusher
Motor is done. Exhaust is almost done. Good possibility that the pusher is on the road tomorrow.
