Re: 64 C10 bed issues

you can add to the "plates" and drill new holes in your cross sills OR drill the spotwelds out and move those plates to the new holes and re-weld them rather then spend the $$$ for new ones unless your related to Bill Gates LOL

Re: 64 C10 bed issues

Go figure. The guy I bought the truck from said he took the bed off. Can those sills work, with those bed sides, what's the difference in sills?

I wish I was related to Bill Gates. I was wondering if I could do that. Dose each sill bolt to the frame?

Re: 64 C10 bed issues

The early rear sill will also be a problem, with its mounting brackets too far apart to sit on your frame horns. The brackets will work, just need to be cut off and each moved inboard about 3-1/2 inches to fit the frame rail spacing. Measure between the mounting bolt holes on the frame ends and space the brackets that far apart on the rear sill. Weld them securely.

Re: 64 C10 bed issues

Ok, so I already need to buy a new rear sill. As I don't already have one. So I should buy all new rear sills for a 62? Is the tailgate different, as I will probably needed a new one, since the one I got has a chunk cut out of it. My sills are in ok shape but wouldn't be a bad idea to replace anyway.
