Re: new with a 72
I just installed that lift on mine a few months ago. I got the 4" EZ ride with rear leaf springs. Without a doubt the stock ride is much softer but that's likely because the original springs were worn out. The ride now is fairly stiff and has much more bounce to it.
If you decide to go with this lift you should know a few things: 1) Any worn out parts in the steering such as tie rod ends, ball joints, etc will be exaggerated with a lift. You should fix anything showing wear. 2) The kit includes a bracket to drop/relocate the stock brake lines. Based on my hard brake line routing up front this would not work. I had new longer brake lines made at a local 4x4 shop. 3) Alignment afterward is a must. 4) I had some pretty severe vibration which turned out to be too sharp of an angle in the rear driveline. Shims needed to be added to the rear axle (not in the kit). This allowed me to keep the stock drivelines. |
