Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

A helluva long way. These mountains are called The Minnarettes. This is from the Mammoth vista at 9128 ft. above sea level. I spent the weekend in Mono county, saw the sights and headed home from this point in the morning.

Attended the "Cruisin' The Coast" event again this year and it was a blast! Made the 4 hour drive to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Wednesday and back home by 7:30 pm yesterday. Over 600 miles total this weekend. Can hardly wait til next year!

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

I asw your truck(s), just no peoples with them. Maybe we'll meet up next year. We spent a lot of time at Cruise Central when we weren't cruising. (the shade trees are soooooo nice. I put about 500 on the 64.

This is some of the group I was with at Cruise Central and at Ocean Springs on Friday. Unfortunately my 8 day CTC vaction is over and I have to go to work tomorrow.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

This was a couple days ago, but I drove Crustine to the muffler shop where she sat most of the day and then drove her home. Getting to be that time of year where the sun don't shine to much anymore.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

I put about 150 miles on thr Suburban yesterday. Had to go to the VA hospital in Prescott for XRays. Going there went through Jerome, Az. Lot of twists and turns. Came back to Cottonwood via freeway. Ran good but mileage went to #;!$; again. Only geting between 5-8. I think it's time to fix the carb.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

Friday I drove my `63 from dark to dark 15 hours and 675 miles with about 12-1400 lbs.in the bed pulling a 5' X 10' trailer loaded with another 1500 lbs. Some mountain sections, too. Never used 5th gear in the T-5, ran 55-60 and got 14 MPG from the 305.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

Not today but Wednesday, drove with my brother from Bonita, CA to Woodland Hills, CA and back. Approximately 315 miles round trip. Made a stop in Torrance so my brother could fill out paperwork for his new job. Went to look at a motor in Woodland Hills which unfortunately was not what I was hoping for. You win some you lose some.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

As most people know, 2015 brought some of the worst wildfires in California history. This weekend my wife and I took a drizzle soaked drive through the heart of the Butte fire zone. We were on an old backcountry road when I took these photos. The devastation spread out to the horizion 360 degrees around me and it was dead silent. No birds, no people, nothing but blackend earth and dead trees. It was a humbling experience seeing the burned out cars and foundations of what were once peoples homes.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

Towed my 1947 Case VAI with my 64 GMC about 18 miles round trip today. Took the tractor to the shop and pressure washed it. GMC pulled the tractor and trailer easily enough.

Re: How far did you drive your truck today part I.

Last week, I drove Clyde to Cleburne ( about 70 miles round), got to meet someone from local FB group and his business. Best thing was a couple hours with just Clyde and me, some highway, some back roads.
