Re: 283 v8 replace

Hello,
now I have bought the 283. It looks good. Here are some pics. The Block is painted with pink color and the Crank and some other parts are painted too. Did anybody know why ?
The Seller have still the original Intake Manifold. Its for a 4bbl Carb. The original Carb was a Q-Jet a think. But what for a size ? The carb sould be a 350cfm I think, but a 4bbl with only 350cfm ? What is the best Way ? Buy the 4bbl Intake or take my old 2bbl ?

Thank you all verry much.

Greets

Nils

Re: 283 v8 replace

I see that pink paint all the time when I really steam clean a motor. I'm sure it's factory. My personnel thought on the intake manifold and carb. is to use the one that you know works to start with, at least. ( the 2BLL.)
