Re: LS3, 4l80e, Np205 in 1972 Blazer
Looking good. Plenty of room up front. Is your transfer case in the stock location?

It is and I’m hoping I do have room. I’m probably going to try to install the engine tomorrow. I think it will be close but I’ve measured and it looks like I have a few inches.

I forgot to mention. I’m all healed up from my accident. I have even been out on my Ducati which took a while since I have never been hurt like this before. I had to do a few weeks of physical therapy from my shoulder being in the sling for so long.

Wow. Medical technology has made advances. I dropped my Buell in 09 and had a very similar injury. They used a plate, 9 screws and some stainless wire. It looked like an ironworker and a carpenter did the job. Whatever they did worked. Did you get the motor in with the accessories?

Here’s a small update. Engine is installed but I need to move everything forward about 1/2 inch. The torque mount on the np205 barely doesn’t line up. Hopefully I can get them moved.

Here’s a shot with radiator in. Decent room with it in the stock location. That’s a Dewitt’s radiator with their fan’s.

Small update. I bought some Hooker manifolds and they fit no problem.

Here’s a shot with engine slide forward the half inch. Seem to be plenty of room. I was worried I have close to 3k into the transmission and tcase setup. I thought I might have to sell it and go 4l70e.

Re: LS3, 4l80e, Np205 in 1972 Blazer
It’s been a while since I updated this. Since the last I posted I moved so I put the blazer on hold. The last few months I’ve been working on it a lot. It’s now running and driving. Runs good. Has a slight hesitation at idle when cold. Not sure why but maybe the ECU needs time to learn. I also swapped the dominator ECU to a terminator. Just didn’t need the power of the dominator.
