Couldnt you cut a hole in the floor with a door or a piece to go over it like the battery?

Re: Under cab or firewall mounted master cylinder

I plan to put a c10 booster and MC in my 50 3100. There's a lip on both firewalls and the bracket/plate from the c10 mounts like it belongs there. You can also use the c10s brake pedal too. The under dash bracket mounts with only a little trimming, and its tucked up where you can't see it. I know its not the cleanest look for a smaller engine bay... But easy access.

Re: Under cab or firewall mounted master cylinder

just for giggles, an envoy or trailblazer has a firewall mounted booster that has pedals attached to the back side. it is a whole firewall panel that can be bolted to your firewall and have the whole deal ready to go. there is also a spot for the drive by wire throttle pedal, a hole for the steering shaft and another hole for wiring. may not fit all applications....

This would be my preference, mine was already in when I bought the PU. It would need a pretty big trap door in the floor to get your hand in and remove the large cover, flip the spring etc. So it's out of sight out of mind, not the best for an important function like brakes.

Re: Under cab or firewall mounted master cylinder

Yea, access would be a problem. I had thought of moving the battery access door and putting it over the MC. I had another cab with a good floor and thought it wouldn't be to hard to patch the access over it when I swapped out the floors. I wanted to keep can with 5 window. So..look factoryish but have access door on driver side. I'm not sure if anyone has done anything like that but I bet it would look good.

Re: Under cab or firewall mounted master cylinder

mine is on the firewall. it works great but honestly if I could go back I would have kept it under the cab. my motto is "classic not original". what I mean by that is I understand that some things need to be changed if you plan to put some miles on the truck but I never want any part of my classic truck to look modern. I bought an old truck because I like old trucks. having the pb booster under the cab is cooler and more classic. the power booster doesn't look great on the firewall.
