Re: I changed my mind...

I guess I won't worry about bolt patterns right now, looks like I have options.

I got under the truck, I've been wanting to wire wheel the underside of floor and frame so I can coat it.

I found that my right side front cab support is shot, rust/cracking. I don't know how I missed this. Granted i didn't get under it much when replacing the floor. I show a pic in a bit.

How to replace? Seems like it would be easiest to roll cab onto it's back. Is this safe for and how should I do this? Bed isn't bolted down.. I can just move it.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Re: I changed my mind...

So I was told that rolling the cab on its back isn't the best idea, but since nothing is really hooked up, I can pull it back and roll the cab onto it's firewall...

Thoughts? In the future I'll definitely try to clean and go over all the hard to see areas before I start.

Re: I changed my mind...

By now I thought I would run across someone who has done a front disc conversion using a 5x5 pattern.

No luck. If I bought the 6 lug disc conversion...

Would I get bigger rotors? Can they be redrilled to 5x5?

Re: I changed my mind...

Ok check this out. The speedway kit I was looking at has camaro rotors, calipers, and a caliper bracket plus a few other things. The rotors/hubs are 5x4.75 bolt pattern.

So I started reading all the Q and As. I switched over to the brake caliper bracket only kit for our trucks. This kit allows you to source your own camaro or equivalent parts.

One of the Q and As from three years ago mentioned a camaro rotor for the same years that was a 5x5. It did mention possibly different bearings needed. This isn't mentioned again. I spent 20 min on hold with their tech support and really wished I had this part number now. Anyways if you read up on this rotor, it mentions the bearings needed to fit the camaro spindle. Maybe there is some way to cross reference?

Would anyone have the specs for our stock spindles handy?

HA!!

I felt like I was on a roll with going through all the Q and As.

Here's the kit.

Here's a screenshot of a Q and A 10 months ago. I don't know why the guy who helped me today didn't look up anything other than the kits. Maybe I can ask for this Eric guy.
